My “go to activity” as a child, was drawing. In fact my absolute favourite Christmas gift was a set of 72 Derwent coloured pencils. (I’d actually asked for the 48 pack so what a happy day that was!) These are still used in much of the artwork you see.

This passion lead to a career in teaching Visual Arts in the primary school system. It was my students’ sweet, bright eyed innocence and their love of nature, that inspired my light hearted and whimsical style. You’ll notice that all my painted and drawn characters have a soft little smile. You could say this is my signature style and I hope it brings smiles to others.

Once hand painting is complete, the artwork is digitised and sent to my fabulous printer to work his magic.

Folding cards has become a nightly activity done in front of favourite movies. And when the big orders come in, it’s all “hands of deck” at the Callaway house.
